Expendables Upcycler: Built by Crew, for Crew

Expendables Upcycler is a grassroots thrift store built by crew and for crew, located inside EcoSet in Glassell Park. They buy used expendables from various productions and sell them at roughly a third off wholesale prices. You can find almost anything for all departments: camera cart accessories, paint and backdrops for the art department, office supplies, and even some audio equipment.

Most expendables from film sets are thrown away or unused in garages, but Expendables Upcycler gives them a second life for the whole community, especially students and productions with tight budgets. They are happy to accept a variety of materials and equipment as long as they are in fair condition and useable. Duvetine, gels, tape, grip, and electric equipment are all appreciated.

Todd Parker started Expendables Recycler in his garage in Van Nuys about thirty years ago as a service to his community. When he closed the shop two years ago, Local 600 member Seth Craven, decided to take it on and continue the important work. He secured a space inside of EcoSet and has been building it out with his team. He is passionate about maintaining small businesses within LA that create community for hard-working creatives and service their needs affordably.
