#StandCreative Series II

13 March 2017

In February 2016, CreativeFuture introduced the #StandCreative Series I, featuring emerging and independent creatives who have been adversely affected by the online digital thefts of their works. They featured independent musicians, photographers, filmmakers, writers, directors, and producers, of varying levels of success, each of whom has suffered tremendous financial harm due to piracy.

In January 2017, CreativeFuture launched the next chapter in the #StandCreative Series II: Behind the Scenes. In this series, they will focus on those creatives whose work behind the scenes is absolutely necessary to the process of shepherding the small spark of an idea into a fully-realized work of art. This series will include conversations with location managers, recording engineers, book cover designers, cinematographers, photo editors, game designers, and anyone else whose behind-the-scenes creative work is overlooked almost as often as it is undermined by piracy.

They began this new series by speaking with Producer (and Leadership Committee Member) Jeff Sharp, whose film The Yellow Birds, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
