Call Congress to Protect Public Media Funding & Jobs!

A message from the IATSE:
IATSE and our sibling arts, entertainment, and media industry unions have been actively fighting back against the Trump administration's attacks on the cultural agencies and standing firm against their proposed elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for Humanities (NEH), and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).
A new threat is now upon us, as President Trump wants Congress to claw back already approved funding for public media, putting IATSE jobs and educational programming at risk. Last week, the White House sent to Capitol Hill a rescissions package that, if approved by Congress, would cancel current funding for the CPB.
The Republican House majority is moving quickly and we expect a floor vote to defund public media as early as Thursday, June 12th. We need your help activating the IATSE membership to express opposition to H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025.
Please encourage your local membership to call the House of Representatives switchboard at 202-224-3121 and tell your Representative: Protect public media funding and protect our jobs. Vote NO on the recissions package, H.R. 4!
CPB funding supports good, union jobs across public media that provide family-supporting pay, health insurance, and retirement security. Union professionals work on air and behind the scenes at public radio and television stations across the country.
The department urges IATSE locals to use their social media channels to express opposition to H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025. Here is a "Vote NO" social media toolkit with message guidance and graphics.
