    Female Cinematographers, Not Content to Hide Behind the Camera

    It was the fall women’s meeting of Local 600, the cinematographers’ union, that kindled the idea. Gathered in the Nyack, N.Y., home of Ellen Kuras, an Oscar nominee who shot “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” female directors of photography, assistants and camera operators swapped stories of their trade — and the challenges of being underrepresented in it.

    ICG’s NAB Show Panels to Discuss Key and Peele’s “Keanu” and Filming with Drones

    The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) will host two sessions at the 2016 NAB Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. One will be a light-­hearted look at Key and Peele’s cinematic debut, Keanu for Warner Bros., in which the hapless duo infiltrates a vicious gang to find their adorable ‘catnapped’ kitten. The other will explore one of the most exciting developments in film technology — drones.
